Flash Point Engineering is seeking a skilled and experienced Process Engineer to join our team on a short-term basis to support key oil & gas infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in downstream oil & gas design and operations and will contribute to detailed engineering, design verification, and process modeling tasks.

Responsibilities

• Develop and review Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), P&IDs, and equipment sizing.
• Perform process simulations using tools like Aspen HYSYS and Pipenet or Similar.
• Conduct hydraulic studies and safety analyses (HAZOP, LOPA).
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (mechanical, civil, E&I) to align process design with project requirements.
• Support in preparing specifications, data sheets, and technical documentation.
• Contribute to the preparation of engineering deliverables required for regulatory approval and construction.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience, preferably in downstream oil & gas (terminals and tank farms).
• Strong proficiency in Aspen HYSYS, Pipenet, or equivalent simulation tools.
• Solid understanding of API, ASME, and NFPA standards.
• Experience with process safety studies (e.g., HAZOP, SIL, LOPA).
• Excellent command of technical documentation and engineering calculations.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in multi-disciplinary project teams.

Preferred (but not required)

• Master’s degree in Chemical/Process Engineering.
• Certifications in Aspen tools, PMP, or safety systems (e.g., NEBOSH).

This is a project-based position tied to current EPC projects. You will be part of an agile and mission-driven engineering team contributing to some of Sudan’s most critical oil & gas infrastructure.
