Position: Head Of Unit – Information Operational Security
Location: Baghdad
Workdays: 5
Worktime: Full Time

Job Summary
This job holder is responsible for overseeing and managing the day-to-day operations of the organization. This role involves leading a team of security professionals, ensuring the protection of the organization’s information assets, and developing strategies to detect, respond to, and mitigate security threats. The candidate should have extensive experience in cybersecurity, operational security, strong leadership skills, and a deep understanding of security technologies and practices.
I. Main Responsibilities :

• Oversee the continuous monitoring of security events and incidents to ensure timely detection and response.
• Implement and maintain an incident response plan, including procedures for identifying, containing, eradicating, and recovering from security incidents.
• Design, implement, and monitor network security architecture, including segmentation, perimeter defenses, and zero-trust principles.
• Oversee firewall management, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and web application firewalls (WAF) to ensure traffic filtering and application-layer protection.
• Review and control connectivity and data exchange with third parties and connected entities (vendors, partners, subsidiaries).
• Implement and enforce access control policies, VPN configurations, and encryption standards for inter-organization communication.
• Oversee the secure configuration and tuning of WAFs to protect against OWASP Top 10 and advanced web threats.
• Maintain visibility over encrypted traffic and ensure SSL/TLS inspection where applicable.
• Oversee the selection, implementation, and maintenance of security technologies and tools, including SIEM, firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and endpoint protection.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards (e.g., GDPR, PCI-DSS, ISO27001, ISO22301).
II. Education and Trainings/ Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Security, or a related field. A master’s degree is preferred.
• A minimum of 8-10 years of experience in cybersecurity/operational security, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within a security operations center or similar environment.
• CCIE – Security is mandatory. Additional CEH, COMPTIA is a plus.

III. Skills and Competencies

• Strong understanding of security technologies, including SIEM, firewalls, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection, and threat intelligence platforms.
• In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks, standards, and best practices, including NIST, ISO 27001, and PCI DSS.
